    Your APPROPRIATIONS & FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE EDUCATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL 253

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

    1. On page 24, strike lines 17 through 23 and insert in lieu thereof:

 

          "A. For the purposes of the Public School Finance Act in fiscal year 2026, a school district with MEM over eight thousand whose MEM on the first reporting date of fiscal year 2026 is at least ten percent lower than the school district's MEM on the first reporting date of fiscal year 2025 shall calculate the total number of program units to which the school district is entitled by averaging the school district's MEM on the first reporting date of fiscal year 2025 and the school district's MEM on the first reporting date of fiscal year 2026.".
